‘Memories’ tribute album, which includes cult songs remixed with funky tunes and hip hop beats, opens the door of Cee-Roo‘s home studio to the world stage. Making music is not related to earning money to him, this is why he lets his fans download the album for free on his internet page. For a better chance to get to know this talented Swiss producer, Cee-Roo and I have talked about the upcoming album, his musical journey, the process of making songs and much more!

You have many fans based in Turkey and they are looking forward to this interview to get to know you a little bit more and hear more about your music. Do you want to say anything in particular to them?

I didn’t know that I have a lot of fans in Turkey. I’d like to take the opportunity to announce that I’m really looking forward coming to your country to perform my show. I heard you have an amazing music and cultural scene, and I’d love to see that.

If we go back to the beginning of your music career, can you tell us how did you decide to become a musician at first place? How did this amazing journey of yours begin?

Actually, I’m not a professional musician. I’m still doing this as a hobby, so I can share and enjoy what I’m creating without any pressure of money. I’m currently working as a motion & sound designer for a TV Show in Switzerland.

What do you enjoy the most : the process of making a song or the moment where the song meets with the audience?

Both are really interesting. I love making songs but also to see the reaction on the internet once I share it, or on stage when it’s played live.

What does a “great song” mean to you? When do you go like “Yeap, this is it!” in the process of making your music?

It has to be groovy as hell, and catchy from the beginning to the end of the track. When you can’t stop listening to it, that’s a good sign!

You have an awesome tribute album named “Memories”. How did you come up with the idea of making such an incredible album?

I really wanted to pay tribute to some artists I like a lot and who passed away. So I ended up with the idea of creating this album, in which I produced the music, but also the graphics and the packaging, which was a lot a fun.

What is next for your music career? Will your next work be in the same concept?

I’m releasing a new 100% homemade album this spring, with it comes a new audio-visual show including musicians and cool video effects. I hope I’ll be able to come to Turkey to present you this.

You perform all around the world and always interact with your fans. What does it mean to you and how does it make you feel?

It’s really amazing to be able to connect with the fans over the world. I always wanted to travel and meet people in different countries. Music makes that possible today and I’m enjoying it a lot.

What inspires you the most? What are the things that feeds your creativity?

Swimming naked in an ice cold lake in Winter feeds my creativity for the whole year!

Can you tell us a couple of songs that you like to listen the most nowadays?

Here’s some of my favourite tracks of the moment:

SBTRKT – The Light (feat. Denai Moore)

Mark Ronson – Feel Right (feat. Mystikal)

Kendrick Lamar – I (Love Myself)

FKJ – Open The Door

Do you have any suggestions for young musicians especially for the ones who dreams of making music in your genre? What are the things you think are vital for them to make dreams come true?

HAVING FUN! The rest is only bonus.
